This project is funded by the YouthWorks program through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor, and Workforce Development. The program is administered by Commonwealth Corporation.
YouthWorks is a state-funded youth employment program designed to help teens and young adults gain the skills and experience needed to find and retain employment. Participants engage in paid, short-term work placements during the summer and/or school year. In addition to hands-on job experience, they receive training in essential soft skills, develop professional behaviors, and learn how to navigate workplace relationships and responsibilities. The program also guides youth in taking meaningful steps toward educational and career advancement.
At the CIWB, we align YouthWorks with our award-winning ArtWorks program—a creative career development initiative that fosters a sense of belonging while promoting pathways in the arts. This integrated approach not only strengthens engagement and retention but also supports youth in building strong artist portfolios for college and future careers. All participants benefit from the Signal Success curriculum, which teaches critical skills for success at work, in school, and in life.
Opportunities for young adults to participate in YouthWorks for Cycle 1 (summer) and Cycle 2 (September through June).
